Finding Our Call by Chance and Wonder with Gary Albert #40

SHOW NOTES

Today I’m talking with Gary Albert, a multi-award-winning artist who creates music to ignite awe and inspire wonder in the world.

The genre-bending multi-instrumentalist blurs the lines between neo-classical, impressionistic music, synth-drenched cinematic sounds, and emotionally arresting melodies and harmonies.

He loops and layers his soaring flute, sparkling piano and velvet vocals into a transcendental sonic tonic that critics have as “... a multi-instrumental dream”, "... a poetic and introspective dimension", and "mesmerising".

The London born musician grew up in a working class family in 80s Hackney, but received full scholarships to The Purcell School of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and the Royal Academy of Music.

He has performed alongside Queen's Brian May and Judi Dench at the Royal Albert Hall, composed the score for a hit TV series on E4, toured the UK, won multiple awards for his work, and now spends his time creating and performing his own immersive live music experiences.

I can’t wait to share this conversation with you.

We’re talking about…

  • Gary’s fascinating journey into music.

  • Giving space to 'The Child in Your Voice' and the healing power of art.

  • The powerful role and impact that art can have in the world today.

  • Addiction, mental health and expressing our full creative potential.
