Art, Empathy & Learning To Care For Others #24

SHOW NOTES

In this week’s episode, we’re talking about Art & Empathy and about how collaborative creations can help us to develop our empathy and our ability to care for others further.

Empathy enhances perception, imagination and interpersonal connections, and can be a huge igniter for social change. It’s clear that all our technological advancements have the potential to contribute to the creation of a more connected, abundant and peaceful reality as well as major social and environmental disasters. Deep down, it’s a matter of choice. If we are to nurture a generation of problem-solvers, community-builders and creative-thinkers, rediscovering the power of empathy is one of the keys for a more positive and stable future.

And so, how to strengthen empathy in an individual-centred culture, it’s a theme that has been extensively researched and discussed lately and in this episode I’ll share with you some amazing discoveries.

What we’re talking about…

  • Defining Empathy.

  • Why Empathy is a super-power.

  • How an efficient use of Empathy requires the engagement of our whole brain.

  • Fostering Empathy through art, storytelling, dance and tinkering.

  • Why Creators not only have the tools to help us develop our empathy further - they have this mission in their hands.
