Embrace Midlife As A Sacred Initiation with Laura Valenti #35

SHOW NOTES

In today’s episode, I’m talking to Laura Valenti, a qualified Movement Medicine dance teacher, somatic and trauma-informed coach and holistic voice therapist.

In her early thirties, she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. While undergoing cancer treatments, she committed to deepening her exploration of movement as medicine.

Her curiosity and passion for learning led her to study many spiritual philosophies and healing arts over two decades, including the Andean cosmology, Theta healing, Polarity therapy, animism, laughter yoga and earth-based practices. She also trained professionally in physical theatre and clowning.

Before diving into the healing power of movement, Laura developed a background in law, sociology of migration and human rights.

She shared her work internationally with indigenous communities, people in drug and alcohol rehabilitation, refugees, women victim of domestic violence and vulnerable children.

“For me, in this collective moment of chaos, uncertainty and confusion, it is more important than ever to respect our Mother Earth and honour all life. If we take care of our living world, we also heal.”

We’re talking about…

  • Laura’s incredible healing journey and the impact of movement medicine.

  • The relationship between arts, performance and healing.

  • How women can embrace midlife as a sacred initiation.

  • The importance of reconnecting with our bodies.

  • Nomad hearts and love of community, music, drums, wilderness and ceremony.

Laura offers individual and group sessions in person and online. Her latest coaching program is dedicated to midlife women who want to release guilt, shame, co-dependency and victim mentality. She supports them in embracing who they are, reconnecting to their bodies, gaining more balance and joy, a sense of belonging and restoring sacred kinship with all life.
